When data looks cut off or too spread out, resizing columns and rows keeps your sheet neat and easy to read. Google Sheets gives you quick ways to adjust sizes manually or automatically.

Resize Single Column or Row

1. Hover over the border of a column letter or row number until the resize arrow appears.
2. Click and drag to make it wider or narrower, taller or shorter.
3. Double-click the border to automatically fit the size to your data.

Resize Multiple Columns

1. Hold Shift and select the column letters you want to resize.
2. Hover over one of the selected borders until the resize arrow appears.
3. Drag to set the new width in one of the selected column and all selected columns will adjust together to the same width.

Resize Multiple Rows

1. Hold Shift and select the row numbers you want to resize.
2. Hover over one of the selected borders until the resize arrow appears.
3. Drag to set the new width in one of the selected column and all selected columns will adjust together to the same height.
